Wanting the blank leaf GG6.
Binding: Nineteenth-century blind-tooled (fillets only) quarter calf over contemporary boards, with metal clasps and original shell-shaped catches on the lower cover.
Size: 313 × 220 × 53 mm.
Size of leaf: 304 × 203 mm.
One of the front endleaves consists of an eleventh/twelfth-century parchment manuscript Translatio S. Bartholomaei (Acta SS August. tom. 5 1741, p. 61 ¶ 56), incipit: ‘Passus est autem venerabilis . . . in media nocte diuina gratia sa||'.
Some underlining and extraction of key concepts in a contemporary humanist hand, in light brown and red ink. A few marginal notes, providing corrections to the text, in a sixteenth-century hand in brown ink. Some underlining and extraction of key concepts in a modern hand in black and red ink, and pencil.
Provenance: Frater Antonius (sixteenth century).
Unidentified Italian church(?) dedicated to St George (sixteenth century); inscription on a1r: ‘Fratris Antonii' below another inscription almost completely erased and written over in a marginally later hand: ‘ . . . Del [?] di san Giorgio'.
