Binding: Early eighteenth-century gold-tooled red morocco; the author's name on a green leather label on the gold-tooled spine. Gilt-edged leaves; marbled pastedowns.

Occasional marginal and interlinear notes in a sixteenth-century French(?) hand, correcting the text and punctuation, and supplying missing text.
