Size of leaf: 325 × 204 mm. On a5r an 11-line Italian (Venice) initial ‘I' is supplied in red and pink on a gold ground, with foliate decoration in green and blue, and with pen-work extensions into the guttering in black ink, with gold dots; see Pächt and Alexander II, 111 no. pr. 89. Some initials, particularly at the beginnings of books or prologues, are supplied in red with purple pen-work infill and extensions into the margins, or blue with red pen-work infill and extensions into the margins.
